Upon arrival at AFAEC, a veterinary technician will triage your pet to determine the severity of the medical emergency. Critical patient or patients that are not mobile will be seen immediately.
We will ask you to provide full contact information on yourself, information and description of your pet and any pertinent medical history.
In some life threatening situations we will ask you for a verbal consent to begin treatment if your pet's life is dependent upon immediate intervention.
Once your pet is stabilized and after the veterinarian has completed a full physical examination, we will discuss the recommended course of treatment. At this time we will present you with an estimate of cost.
In some situations, your pet’s recovery may require a hospital stay. In others, your pet is treated and released back to you with instructions to follow up with your family doctor. (Veterinarian)

When you visit Airport Freeway Animal Emergency Clinic, we will provide a detailed estimate regarding your pet’s care for your review. Our standard policy is to accept payment at the time services are rendered. In the event your pet is hospitalized the low end of your estimate will be collected as a deposit.
Cash, personal checks and major credit cards are accepted.
Sometimes unexpected medical costs can be a burden on many people. In such cases, AFAEC offers delayed payments through CareCredit, a third party financing option accepted nationwide by many veterinary and human medical facilities. You may apply for CareCredit over the phone, via the internet or at our facility. You may phone ahead to determine your eligibility for this credit card by calling 1-800-859-9975 or by visiting the CareCredit website, www.carecredit.com.
To bolster your pet's spirits, we encourage you to visit while your pet is hospitalized.
Many patients we see here are treated and discharged. In the event your pet is allowed to go home we provide complete dismissal instructions advising several things such as medication starting times, feeding instructions, bandage and wound care, things to monitor and times to follow-up with your family veterinarian. If your pet had radiographs taken we will supply you with the pictures on a CD for your primary veterinarian to review.
If your pet has been hospitalized and needs continued care, we will have you transfer your pet to your Veterinarian upon discharge from our facility. We will fax your primary veterinarian your pet's medical records including all laboratory findings.
